
Senator Scott Bright (R), Senate District 13
Senator Scott Bright was elected to Senate District 13 in 2024, serving communities in Adams and Weld Counties including Brighton. A lifelong Northern Colorado resident, Senator Bright earned his bachelor’s degree in business management and accounting from Pacific Union College before taking the helm of his family’s early-childhood education business, which has grown to 25 licensed child-care and preschool centers serving more than 2,000 families. He is a longtime civic leader, serving as president of the Early Childhood Education Association of Colorado, chair of the Colorado Early Education Network, and in roles with several regional nonprofit and community organizations. The Senator brings decades of experience in education, business, and community service, and has prioritized affordability, economic opportunity, strong schools, and advancing conservative values in the legislature.

Senator Kyle Mullica (D), Senate District 24
Senator Kyle Mullica formerly served as state representative for House District 34 before being elected to represent Senate District 24 in 2022. Senator Mullica was born and raised in Thornton and earned his degree in real estate and finance from the University of Denver. After graduating, he worked for several non-profit organizations serving vulnerable populations, which sparked his passion for helping those less fortunate and led him to pursue his nursing degree. He then worked as an emergency medical technician and served on the Northglenn City Council. While serving at the Capitol, Senator Mullica also works shifts in an emergency department, collaborating with his medical team to serve the community's needs. Senator Mullica serves as chair of the Health & Human Services Committee and Vice Chair of the Capital Development Committee. He also serves on the Finance Committee and the Transportation & Energy Committee.

Representative Carlos Barron (R), House District 48
Representative Carlos Barron serves House District 48, representing parts of Adams and Weld counties, including Brighton. Born in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico, he immigrated to the United States as an infant and has lived in Fort Lupton for the majority of his life. After graduating from Fort Lupton High School, he joined his family’s oil and gas services business — working in the industry for over two decades and now serving as general manager and partner. Before being elected in November 2024, Rep. Barron served on the Fort Lupton Planning Commission and was elected to the Fort Lupton City Council in 2021. Known for his commitment to conservative values, he champions energy independence, parental rights, Second Amendment protections, and sound economic policies. In July 2025, Barron was elected by his peers to serve as House Minority Whip and also serves on the following committees – Energy & Environment, Legislative Council, and Transportation, Housing & Local Government.

Representative Lorena Garcia (D), House District 35
Representative Lorena Garcia currently serves House District 35, representing parts of Adams and Jefferson counties. She was first appointed in January 2023 by a vacancy committee and won her seat in the 2024 election. For nearly two decades, Rep. Garcia has led nonprofit and social-justice organizations aimed at uplifting marginalized communities — working on issues ranging from economic opportunity and immigrant rights to health and reproductive justice. She holds a bachelor’s degree in film studies from University of Colorado Boulder and an MBA from George Washington University. In the Legislature, she serves on the Judiciary and Finance Committees and champions policies to expand education access, protect reproductive and civil rights, strengthen public-health care, and promote economic and environmental justice.

Representative Jacque Phillips (D), House District 31
Representative Jacque Phillips serves House District 31, representing Thornton and neighboring parts of unincorporated Adams County. She began her career early in life, balancing motherhood with full-time work while advancing through Aims Community College. She went on to earn a doctorate in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado and a J.D. from the University of Denver. Before running for state office, she served on the Thornton City Council from 2015–2022 and built a career as a civil-rights and education-rights attorney. At the Capitol, she sits on the Education Committee and the Transportation, Housing & Local Government Committee. Her priorities include making housing available as a path out of poverty, preserving a woman’s right to choose, ensuring economic and environmental justice for working people, and standing up for marginalized communities.

Representative Chris Richardson (R), House District 56
Representative Chris Richardson serves Colorado House District 56, representing rural and eastern communities across Adams, Arapahoe, Cheyenne, El Paso, Elbert, Kit Carson, and Lincoln Counties. A retired U.S. Army Colonel with 23 years of service — including combat deployments with the 101st Airborne Division during Desert Storm and command of the 43rd Sustainment Brigade at Fort Carson — Rep. Richardson brings deep experience in leadership and logistics to his legislative role. After moving to Elbert County with his family, he served two terms as an Elbert County Commissioner and held leadership roles on several state and regional boards, including the state’s Commission on Property Taxation and regional transportation and broadband planning bodies. Elected to the state House in 2024, he is now a member of the Business Affairs & Labor Committee and the Transportation, Housing & Local Government Committee, where he advocates for limited government, local control, support for agriculture and rural communities, property-tax relief, and protection of individual liberties.

Representative Manny Rutinel (D), House District 32
Representative Rutinel is an environmental attorney, entrepreneur, first-generation American, and the proud son of a single mother. He represents House District 32, which includes Commerce City, Welby, and other unincorporated areas of Adams County. Rep. Rutinel received his J.D. from Yale Law School. After law school, he was an Attorney for Earthjustice, an environmental non-profit. Before law school, Rep. Rutinel was an economist for the US Army Corps of Engineers, where he also served as a first responder in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. He holds an M.S. in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Florida. He was appointed to his seat in October 2023 for a vacancy opening in the district and elected to the position in 2024. Currently he serves on the Energy & Environment Committee at the Capitol. He is also running for Congressional District 8 in the 2026 election.
